A man whose wife was allegedly seduced by their marriage counselor, leading to the couple's divorce, has won a judgment of $500,000.
Before Gary Graham discovered the affair, counselor James Loomis advised him that he could improve his marriage by staying away from his wife, Diana.
Maine has abolished "alienation of affections" as grounds for suit, so Graham sued on the grounds that Loomis had committed malpractice by interfering with the relationship of the people he was treating.
He sued in 1995 for negligent and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
